Disable FortiClient auto start

-click Start/Search or press Windows+R
-type cmd
-right click cmd.exe and choose “Run as Administrator”
>msconfig
go to Services tab
uncheck FortiClient Service Scheduler
Do not restart the PC now

-press Windows+R
type services.msc
change “FortiClient Service Scheduler” to Manual

    • there is one step missing, once you are in the command line, you’ve to type “net stop fortishield”, once this is stopped then you can turn it to manual in services.msc

      if you get the error 5 in the cmd, make sure you’re running it as administrator

      so, as a summary, what worked for me after been trying for 1h is (for Windows10):

      run “cmd” as administrator
      type “net stop fortishield”
      run “services.msc”
      look for “FortiClient Service Scheduler” and change it to manual
