File Server setup

1. Create a disk

in Winbox go to System/Stores/Disks
select a disk (ATA or USB)
for ATA the name could be secondary-master
for USB the name could be usb1
click Check Dive

click a disk and click Format Drive

2. verify the disk
go to Files
your usb mounted should be under /usb1
or your ATA disk, could be under /secondary-master
3. set shares and users
go to IP/SMB

4. set client

To connect to a file server directly, use the Connect To Server feature of the Finder. Select Go > Connect To, and enter a URL, IP address or DNS name.

WINDOWS
For Win7 and XP all are fine
For Win8 and 2012, we need to modify in every client
right click Windows/Programs/Administrative Tools/Windows PowerShell (x86)/Run as administrator
Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $true
or
Set-ItemProperty -Path “HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters” RequireSecureNegotiate -Value 0 -Force
